This is what you missed last Friday! TOPMAN and Junk By Demand presents Hurts live in Mist Club, KL. This British synthpop duo already performing live around the world and Malaysia is one of their stops. I was so delighted to have the very first hand experience of their music live, thank you Sony Music Malaysia.
Hurts are composed of vocalist Theo Hutchcraft (left) and musician Adam Anderson (right). I've heard of them and I am definitely affected by their music. Their live was awesome!
With not much more than an albums worth of songs to offer up, the set started with their first song of the night ‘Unspoken’ and the crowd sing-along with Theo, "Forget about you, I'll forget about you~". That night, Hurts perform 13 songs which comprises all the tracks from their first album including ‘Silver Lining’, ‘Wonderful Life’, ‘Sunday’ and ‘Blood, Tears & Gold’..
As Theo sang halfway "So stay with me Evelyn, don't leave me with the medicine~" -Evelyn, Adam left his keyboard and took on the electric guitar.
Finally I can see him under the spotlight and entertain the crowd! The gig lasted for one hour and Hurts closed with my favorite song ‘Stay’. The crowd chanted 'we want moreeeeeeeee..', 'please stay!'. Then, the 14th song with their hit single ‘Better Than Love’ kicked in with Theo strong vocal "Every seconds is a life time~".
Both Theo and Adam are very out going and fun! Theo threw a lot of fresh white roses to the crowd, I would go 'awwwwwww' and faint if I get one. oh well.. I didn't faint because I didn't get any =/
This is what they did before they begin in most of the song! Hurts are good on record, but they are even greater live. The performance kinda short as I crave for more, I enjoyed the sing-along so much eventhough there are few unfamiliar song. Thank you again Sony Music Malaysia for such intimate session to be up close with Hurts and great to meet some familiar faces there =D
